first_imgThis Thursday, March 10th, The Maison on Frenchmen St. in New Orleans, LA is hosting a one-of-a-kind Killa 4 Dilla tribute. Some of our favorite musicians are gathering to celebrate the life and music of J Dilla, including Borahm Lee, Nigel Hall, Alvin Ford Jr., Ian Neville, Andrew Block, Eric “Benny” Bloom, Ryan Zoidis, [email protected] Peoples, DJ Otto, alongside very special guest Ivan Neville. It will undeniably be a night to remember. A portion of the proceeds with go to the J Dilla Foundation that helps fund inner city music programs.J Dilla’s Long Lost 2002 Album ‘The Diary’ Will Finally Be ReleasedDespite passing away far too young, Detroit native hip hop producer, J Dilla, is one of the most influential producers of all time. His career began working with big names like De La Soul, Pharcyde and Busta Rhymes, and was a member of A Tribe Called Quest‘s production trio, the Ummah. Dilla went on to produce with musical legends such as The Roots, Common, D’Angelo, Jill Scott, Janet Jackson, Macy Gray and Erykah Badu and many more. Come out, get down, and celebrate the great J Dilla this Thursday, March 10th at Maison.
